One thing that we know is that politicians along with all others can and will change their minds.  There is a difference, however, in changing one's mind and supporting a law that upholds an issue that you “strongly oppose.”  Thank God that Abraham Lincoln did not have the same attitude as the former Governor of Massachusetts.  Mitt Romney said that he was pro-life but supported the law that made abortion legal.  Romney was pro-choice when it was needed to win the Governors office in Massachusetts and now says that he is pro-life when trying to win the republican nomination this year. 

Let us examine another issue, gun control.  As governor Romney signed one of the toughest laws in the country against assault weapons, yet he says he supports the 2nd Amendment.  Was a supporter of the Brady Bill, yet says he supports the 2nd Amendment.  Just another change of mind?  Want another one?  Mitt Romney says that he is against gay marriage but did nothing to change the law while governor.  Romney also supports benefits for gay partners, a truly strong conservative position.

I am amazed at how many so called “conservative republican leaders” can support the republican version of Bill Clinton.  Mitt Romney will say anything to get your vote while he has proven that he will not stand for what he believes in.  For or against abortion which one is it Mitt?  For or against gay rights?  For or against gun control?  A president must stand for something and not change his or her mind depending on the state or the situation he finds himself in.  The current president may not be the greatest ever but at least you know where he stands.  This can also be said for Senator John McCain.  Republicans tend to not agree with him on all issues but at least when he says something it can be believed and he will follow through even if it is unpopular.  Mitt Romney wants your vote and will say anything to get it; John McCain deserves your vote but will not pander to you to get it.
